Nutritional analysis and medicinal-ingredient potency testing are not automatically the same analytical service.

Nutritional Analysis

May measure components such as:

  • protein;
  • Carbohydrates.
  • Fibre.
  • Sugars.
  • Total fat.
  • Fatty acids.
  • Selected minerals.
  • Moisture.
  • Ash.

PBR's documented capabilities also include vitamins A, C and D for applicable matrices.

Medicinal Ingredient Potency Testing

Potency testing may require:

  • Analyte-specific methods.
  • Reference standards.
  • Matrix-specific extraction.
  • Defined concentration ranges.
  • Method suitability.

PBR's current verified service catalogue does not support a blanket claim that all medicinal ingredients or all vitamins can be tested for potency.

Which Do You Need?

Ask:

Are we trying to characterize the nutritional composition, or verify a specific medicinal ingredient against a defined specification?

That answer determines the analytical approach.
