Start with the intended use of the result rather than a familiar test name. Antimicrobial activity, product efficacy and sterility evaluation address different questions and require a scope appropriate to the product.
An antimicrobial activity question concerns the interaction between a product or agent and microorganisms under specified conditions. Minimum inhibitory concentration is one particular type of evaluation. It should not be assumed to demonstrate performance in every finished-product application.
An efficacy enquiry asks whether a product performs for a defined objective under the relevant evaluation conditions. Product use, organisms, concentration and contact conditions can matter to the choice of assessment. Supply the intended claim, specification or named method when requesting a laboratory review.
A sterility question is distinct from a general microbial count or an antimicrobial activity measurement. Provide the product, intended use and applicable requirement so PBR can confirm whether the requested service is available and how it would be scoped.
Agree what will be tested, the method and conditions, what will be reported and how the findings will be used. An evaluation report does not automatically demonstrate effectiveness outside those conditions or authorize a product claim.
Send the product type, relevant formulation information, evaluation objective, known target organisms, required method or specification and decision deadline. PBR will review the request before confirming sample requirements and a quotation.
Define the available laboratory evaluation for your antimicrobial product or sterility enquiry.
Understand the different questions answered by growth assessment, enumeration and microbial identification.
Plan product evaluation around development objectives, intended use and reporting needs.
Contact PBR with your sample or product, testing objective and reporting needs. Confirm the appropriate laboratory scope and submission arrangements before sending material.
